Or at least, post restricted to those working on the tree(s)? I'd be happy to contribute what I can, though I'll admit that most of my skills these days lie in Perl, and it's been a while since I've done any serious development in C (minus the minor projects here and there that don't lend themselves well to Perl, Tk, PHP or something similiar). Bug tracking is pretty easy - sourceforge isn't necessarily needed for it, if you ask me. What it does do (IMO) is give "normal" developers a simple forum for communication and coordination that they might not otherwise easily have... nevermind the time, know-how or desire to set something like that up (personally, I tend to prefer the bugzilla line of tools). (I've also sent Vikas email off-list going down this general line of questioning, as well) > my list of bugs: > - trapmon - broken, doesn't clear events, really hard to add MIBs, data > file is incompatible. My general experience with SNMP traps is that the clearing logic can be secondary to the monitor -- and personally I've not really found a great package where it's easy to add/customize MIBs, though that can be a bit of inexperience on my part. > - snmpmon-collector doesn't really works on new Linuxes/W2k Hmmm... I had trouble with it on Solaris, too, at one point... though I must confess that most of the SNMP stuff is still done through mechanisms other than SNIPS. > - hostmon/snmpmon empty Device [] issue I think someone sent a patch for this at some point... I'd certainly love to see it. :-) Russell -- Russell M. Van Tassell russell at loosenut com "Quite frankly, teachers are the only profession that teach our children." -- VP Dan Quayle |
