[nocol-users] LPRng monitoring

I'm trying to monitor the lpd server daemon on my network.  Is portmon
the correct way to go about it?  If so, what do I do about the
restrictions on the source port (721-731 according to RFC1179, 512-1023
according to LPRng).  Either way, I would have to connect from a
reserved port as SUID root and send commands from there.

Has anyone done this before?
