[nocol-users] Hostmon-client connection
|
Has anyone considered ripping out the telnet stuff from hostmon-client and using inetd to serve up the file. This could either be done with a simple "cat" or invoking hostmon-client with a special option. Obviously "cat" wouldn't check on who is connecting, but it could be built into hostmon-client. A benefit of this is that once the network connection is taken out of hostmon-client, then the monitoring part could almost be run out of cron (almost because currently it does keep some stats between each run). So what do people think of this idea?
